Charles Harris

Harris worked at sea as ship's mate and navigator aboard a logwood long hauler in 1722 when it was taken by pirate George Lowther. Harris was one of the few who willingly joined Lowther and his gang. Soon Lowther gave Harris, along with lieutenant Edward Low, each command of his own ship. The three sailed in tandem and pillaged together until Low deserted and Harris joined the exodus. A year later Harris and low mistook a man-o'-war for a merchant ship and were captured and subsequently hanged.
